1.    Are Top of the Range Training courses nationally accredited?

Yes, we are nationally accredited. We are in partnership with National First Aid Training Institute and Health Security and Education

2.    How Do I enrol?

Course registration can be done easily by phone, email or BOOK NOW on our homepage. We simply record your details to temporarily reserve your place in a course until payment is received. Once payment is received your position in the course is confirmed .

3.    Can I get a refund?

If the course is cancelled for any reason or the course is full by the time payment is received a full refund or transfer to another course ( if mutually acceptable) will be offered to all students.

A full refund will be granted to any student who notifies withdrawal from the course 48 hours prior to the commencement of the course. 

No refunds will be given for students who fail to notify non-attendance or choose not to complete the course after the course has commenced.


4.    What is the difference between your training organisation and St John or the Red Cross?

There is not a great difference in course content. It comes down to cost and trainersí ability to deliver the course in a fun but informative manner. Top of the Range Training is a professional business and not a charity. All our trainers are dedicated first aid instructors and our course fees are generally lower. You will enjoy your day and will take away considerable knowledge.

5.    Who accredits your courses?

Top of the Range Training courses are Nationally recognized, which means that we work under the banner of an RTO (Registered Training Organisation) National First Aid Training Institute and Health Security Education which must meet Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) standards and Dept of Education and Training. 

6.    How long is my certificate valid?

Industry requirements state that competencies must be reassessed every 12 months for CPR, every 3 years for all first aid units. Low Voltage Rescue must be reassessed every 12 months, Advanced Resuscitation every 12 months. For Workplace safety courses, please phone the office on 0746388110.

7.    What course do I need to do?

It depends on your workplace requirements, but the standard required for most workplaces is First Aid Level II (HLTAID003 ) This includes CPR.

8.    What do I need to bring to the course?

The course is a lot of fun so bring your sense of humour and an open mind. Please bring a pen and paper for notes. Tea coffee and biscuits are provided for morning tea when you train at our venue. Your prepayment receipt and your USI number is also needed. If you are completing the first aid course you will need your signed and dated elearning certificate as well.

9.    What should I wear for my training?

Wear comfortable, modest clothing as a considerable amount of time is involved crawling around the floor particularly for cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation(CPR). Ladies please refrain from wearing lipstick as our manikins donít like it.

Safety Courses require long sleeved hi vis shirts, long trousers, steel capped boots, hard hat and safety glasses. Fire courses require cotton long sleeved shirts, long cotton trousers and closed in shoes.

10. What age do I need to be to do a first aid course?

If we deem a child mature enough they can undertake a course with Parent/guardian permission.  

11. Do I get a certificate?

Yes a certificate is awarded to all successful participants and is nationally recognised. The certificate processing takes up to 7 days. If you need an urgent certificate ( 1-3 days earlier than normal processing time), there is a fee of $20 onto of the original cost of the course. You MUST supply us with your USI number ( Unique Student Identification Number). Without this number, we are unable to award you, your certificate. No refund will be given for failure to supply an USI number.

12. Does TRT provide training onsite?

Yes it is our privilege to be able to offer onsite training.

13. Does the Instructor have a working safely with children blue card?

Yes all of our instructors have this card.

14. Does TRT have first aid products for sale?

Yes we have a selection of first aid kits and supplies for sale at our premises and have an extensive range of kits we can order for you if these do not meet your needs.

15. What do I do with the course elearning?

PROVIDE FIRST AID or CHILDCARE FIRST AID  - We request that you complete the elearning and print out the certificate and return it to Top of the Range Training by email .Please let us know if you have any special needs such as a medical condition, learning/reading difficulties so we can assist you to succeed.

Please be aware that  your elearning needs to be completed  before the course. This is due to the fact that you will need this knowledge to participate in the first aid class and appropriate scenario based training.

ALL OTHER COURSES  - Please arrive 15 minutes before the course - to complete the paperwork

16. How do I pay for my course?

To confirm your place in the course, payment needs to be made before the course date. Payment can be done by direct debit, cheque (payable to Top of the Range Training), EFTPOS or cash. Please call us to arrange a cash payment.

17. Do I need an USI number ( Unique Student Identifier) ?

In short, YES.

You MUST supply us with your USI number ( Unique Student Identification Number). Without this number, we are unable to award you your certificate. No refund will be given for failure to supply an USI number.
