This course provides a practical understanding of how to safely handle and manage sharps and infectious waste in the workplace. It is designed to support workplace health and safety by reducing the risk of injury, contamination and infection.

Participants will learn how to identify, handle and dispose of sharps and infectious materials in line with relevant Australian guidelines and workplace procedures. Topics include risk awareness, safe disposal methods, PPE use, spill management, incident response, and relevant legislation. This course helps promote safer workplaces and supports duty of care obligations.
