Everyone can start a conversation that may just save a person's life | You just need to learn how.

Mental Health First Aid equips you with the knowledge, skills and confidence to recognise, understand and respond to an individual experiencing a mental health problem or crisis.  Throughout this course, you will learn how to use a practical, evidence based action plan to assist an adult who may be experiencing a mental health problem or crisis.  

Content of this course includes:

  • Overview of Mental Health issues in Australia

  • Conversations to support people struggling with anxiety and depression

  • Approaching someone you suspect may be suicidal and suicide prevention

  • Supporting people who have experienced trauma, or self-harm & PTSD

  • De-escalating aggressive behaviours 

  • Substance use/abuse indicators and approaching the person

  • Self-care and resilience after these conversations
